Chris "Toots" Tootell began animating professionally at the age of 16 for children's television in the UK, before moving to London, at 22, to work for Tim Burton on his feature The Corpse Bride.
Toots then moved to the USA working for Laika on the Oscar nominated movies Coraline, ParaNorman and The Boxtrolls.
Chris left Portland in 2014 for Los Angeles where he animated for Charlie Kaufman on his debut animated feature Anomalisa.
After Directing music promos for Sitting Still, The Coral Sea and Paper Beat Scissors Toots Directed animated shorts and Commercials for Disney and Warner Bros in Los Angeles.
In 2021 Chris was a Senior animator for Guillermo Del Toro on his production of Pinocchio.
